I love to see school gardens sprouting anew! Students dig the dirt and they love to harvest. (Don’t we all?) Not only is it loads of fun, but it’s educational. Did I hear win-win? Take a look at how are students are growing…
It all begins with the construction and installation of new garden beds. Thanks to the generous donation from Black Kow, the students can begin with a healthy bed of soil and compost. Tilling the soil provides nice soft beds for our seeds to take sprout.
Next, we plant the seeds.
Sweet sugar snap peas will require support, so built a teepee for them to climb!
Grow towers save on space and resources and will produce a bounty of harvest.
We must water in our new seeds to ensure good germination.
Located just outside the cafeteria, these students will enjoy watching the fruits of their labor mature into the fruits on their lunch plate. Mister Landscaper provided the irrigation so the students won’t lose any plants over school breaks. We love the support from our business community!
