Here’s a great recipe for coleslaw I received from my mother. Unlike many others I’ve tried, this one has a light and fresh taste but best of all, the kids love it!
Old-Fashioned Coleslaw
This recipe is all about your sense of taste. Like it salty? Add as much as you’d like! Prefer it creamy? Spoon in some more mayonnaise. Got carrots? Shred ’em and add ’em. It’s just that easy to make it your own.
Ingredients
1 head white cabbage, chopped coarsely 1 sweet Vidalia onion, diced 1 cucumber, diced 1 TBSP red wine vinegar (my mother won’t give exact amounts, only “to taste”) Mayonnaise for consistency Salt and pepper, to taste (you decide!)Directions
- Combine all ingredients.
- Serve immediately or chill.
