Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita

If you enjoy a good margarita, this spicy version will definitely bring on the party! Filled with garden-fresh ingredients, this drink will simply feel healthy and fresh. Perfect to offset those nachos!

Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita

Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita

3 ounces silver tequila (2 shots)
1.5 ounces freshly squeezed lime juice (1 shot)
1/2 cucumber, sliced
1/2 jalapeño, sliced
1 TBSP sea salt, for rimming glass
1 lime, cut into wedges
2 TBSP agave nectar (or simple syrup)
1.5 ounces triple sec
1 can cucumber sparkling water (or club soda)

In a cocktail shaker, add the tequila, lime juice, cucumber and jalapeño slices. Muddle fruits to combine flavors, then cover and place in refrigerator. Allow 10 minutes for flavors to infuse. Longer, if you prefer it spicy. Place sea salt on a shallow plate. Moisten rim of two 8-ounce glasses with the squeezed lime quarter, then dip the moistened rim into the salt and coat well. Fill glasses with ice and set aside. Remove cocktail shaker from refrigerator and fill with agave nectar and triple sec. Shake to mix well. Pour margarita mixture over ice, dividing evenly between the two glasses. Fill the remainder of glasses with sparkling water. Garnish with fresh slices of cucumber and jalapeño. Enjoy!

If the spice of jalapeño is too much for your taste, add a tsp of agave nectar and more sparkling water.Variations on this recipe include sparkling water as opposed to club soda, including cucumber or lime flavored sparkling water.
