Sumptuous Sangría

This recipe is a blend of my personal favorites when it comes to a good Sangría.  It incorporates brandy and bubbles into the mix and some fairly benign fruit options.  Now this is one of those drinks where you can get creative and mix and match on your own, but for starters, begin with this one and modify from there. 🙂

Sumptuous Sangría

3 cups red wine (equivalent to practically an entire bottle)

1 cup orange juice

1 can ginger-ale

1/4 cup brandy

1 orange, 1 apple, both sliced

Mix first four ingredients together in a pitcher and chill.  Add fruit at least one hour before serving.  Enjoy!

Some common variances include:  white wine as opposed to red, sugar in place of the ginger-ale, rum in lieu of brandy.  You can also add 1/4 cup of orange liqueur rather than a cup of orange juice.  And as for fruit, lemons, limes and even mango are popular alternatives.  The key is to fine tune the recipe to suit your taste buds.

My husband makes our sangria. He uses red wine, a fruity liquor (not sure what), little bit of sugar, cherries, orange, 0pineapple (with juice). I don’t fully know the recipe but it’s delicious! And the fruit is quite yummy too!

I’ve never met a Sangria I didn’t like! Unfortunately. One thing I have learned, they’re all pretty POTENT. Caution!!
