Sumptuous SangrĂ­a

This recipe is a blend of my personal favorites, but is easily adapted to suit everyone.
Ingredients
  • 3 cups red wine (equivalent to practically an entire bottle)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 can ginger-ale
  • ¼ cup brandy
  • 1 orange, 1 apple, both sliced
Instructions
  1. Mix first four ingredients together in a pitcher and chill.
  2. Add fruit at least one hour before serving.
Notes
Some common variances include: white wine as opposed to red, sugar in place of the ginger-ale, rum in lieu of brandy. You can also add ¼ cup of orange liqueur rather than a cup of orange juice. And as for fruit, lemons, limes and even mango are popular alternatives. The key is to fine tune the recipe to suit your taste buds.
