Fighting Juvenile Diabetes

This month BloominThyme has joined the cause to fight juvenile diabetes.  An author friend of mine, Brenda Novak, has a personal connection to this disease.  Her son suffers from the diabetes–the 5th deadliest killer.  In an effort to raise money to help find the cure, she hosts an online auction with some very unique items and once in a lifetime opportunities.  Have a favorite author?  Stay in her beach cottage!  Love to write?  Here’s your chance to get your work in front of major NYC publishers and agents–and receive a personal response within 24 hours!

From readers to authors, kids to adults, there’s something for everyone.  This year BloominThyme has donated a kid-inspired garden goody basket toward the cause, with all funds going to The Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami.  The Diabetes Research Institute (DRI) is a recognized world leader in cure-focused research. Since its inception in the early 1970s, the DRI has made significant contributions to the field of diabetes research, pioneering many of the techniques used in islet cell transplantation. From innovations in islet isolation and transplant procedures to advances in cell biology and immunology, the Diabetes Research Institute is now harnessing the power of emerging technologies to develop new cell-based therapies to restore insulin production.

By bidding you will not only win some exciting items and/or opportunities, you’ll be supporting a very worthy research-based organization.  Won’t you join us?  Auction runs the entire month of May.  Find out more at Brenda Novak’s Auction.  Good luck!  And please, help spread the word… :)
